State Chairmen attack Oshiomhole, demand for immediate resignation

The State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Imo State, Dan Nwafor, has predicted that President Muhammadu Buhari might be the last president of the party if the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, is not shown the way out.

Nwafor attributed the lingering crisis in his state as well as other states to the selfish and dictatorial ways Oshiomole had allegedly conducted the party prior to the 2019 General Elections.

He also accused him of being the reason the party could not do well in the last election in Imo and other parts of the country.

Recall that Comrade Oshiomhole has been at loggerheads with his party’s supporters, particularly following the nation’s Supreme Court’s verdict on Zamfara State’s elections and the party’s loss.

Recently, the APC Deputy National Chairman (North), Lawal Shuaibu, also asked him to step aside.

Agency report stated that in a letter dated May 27, 2019, Shuaibu had accused Oshiomhole of taking unilateral decisions on behalf of the national working committee (NWC).

Shuaibu said members of the NWC presided over by Oshiomhole hardly meet but when they meet, their final decisions are altered.

“Please don’t get me wrong, do not think I am saying these about your conduct as Chairman because I want to be Chairman. I don’t want to be National Chairman, because I cannot be, even if I want to, for as long as President Muhammadu Buhari is in office, having come from the same North West geo-political zone,” he wrote.

“In advanced democracies, people who fail to add value or build over and above what they met on assumption of duty show some civilized examples, they honorably bow out.
