PVCs impound from Non-Nigerian in Kano and others states

The final face of 2019 general elections will end this weekend. Why some have applauded the effort of INEC so far some but condemned the process as the worst ever. Among some key areas some felt the agency have failed the country borders on the influx of fake voters’ cards. The reports from The Comptroller, Nigerian Immigration Service, (NIS) Kano State Command, Mr Isiaka Olaide, alludes to this fact. He has said that the command has impounded thousands of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) from Non-Nigerians, who are still in Kano State to prevent them from participating in the elections.
Olaide, who just resumed office in the state, disclosed this to pressmen while addressing journalists at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Centre, said the organisation was taking every necessary step that would ensure credibility in the election.
His words: “We have impounded a lot of PVCs from Non- Nigerians, not only in Kano State but throughout the federation and these are in thousands.
“We want to make sure that those Non-Nigerians, who have intentions of participating in our election are not given any opportunity to achieve their aim, because the election in the country is meant for Nigerians”
He said: “We do not want non-Nigerians to influence the result of our election, because an election is a very serious issue for us as Nigerians, adding that members of NIS are cooperating with other law enforcement agencies to ensure adequate protection of lives and properties during and after the election.
Olaide, however, disclosed that in order to ensure that peace reigns during and after the election, members of NIS would be out to complement the services of other security operatives at the polling units, saying that in accordance to the rules guiding the election, they would neither be armed nor prevent the people from carrying out their civic responsibility.
