Looming Strike Action as Labour, FG in all night meeting

At the ongoing meeting, the organized labour and representatives of the Federal Government broke into discussions to consider both positions on the minimum wage.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the meeting which commenced 5:00 p.m. is yet to reach any agreement following a breakout session by both government and labour teams.

Although report reaching us just now reveal both FG, Labour have agreed on 20% for Grade Level 07-14, 13.5% for Grade Level 15-17..after tough series of meeting.

“Till past 12 midnight critical talk on ongoing by the two parties on the cost and implication n the agreement. At a point the labour leaders were allow to consult amongst themselves regarding our latest offer on the table. They have vacated the row of seats to the right and have moved to another room to consult”

Talks continued till late in the night – hours to the Labour deadline – on the new wage.

The two teams were yet to reach a consensus on the consequential adjustment to the N30,000 minimum wage – already being paid to workers on Grade Levels 1 – 6.
