American billionaire and co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Bill Gates has described his African counterpart Aliko Dangote as being his “invaluable partner”
According to him, Dangote has been instrumental to his foundation for many years adding that they have a lot in common in terms of working together “on issues like malnutrition, food fortification, and polio” in Nigeria.
Bill Gates disclosed this in a note published on his blog dated June 23.
His words; “I’ve been lucky to call Aliko Dangote a friend for many years. We have a ton in common: Both of us started successful businesses, and then, for our second acts in life, we chose to start foundations aimed at improving health and education.”
It will be recalled that Bill Gates recently visited Nigeria after five years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
During his visit, Gates, alongside Dangote, met with President Bola Tinubu. He also met governors and traditional rulers, including the Sultan of Sokoto, and urged governments to deal with challenges facing the health system.
