Group vow to drag Tinubu to court, if he fails to contest for 2023 Presidential election

Like an agonizing call for a savior, a group known as Tinubu Support Organisation, TSO has threatened to drag All Progressives Congress, APC chieftain, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, popularly known as Jagaban to court, if he fails to yield to their demand, asking him to contest in the next presidential election in order to help save and take Nigeria to the next level.

According to the Director-General of the group, Aminu Suleiman who was speaking at a press conference in Lagos, their request was motivated by Asiwaju’s years of positive impact on the Nigerian political scene, tremendous mentorship of several political actors who are actively championing various offices and wealth of experience in governance and policies. Aminu told newsmen point blank that “if he refuses to contest, we’ll take him to court”, stating that Nigeria cannot have a leader who is capable of helping the nation and then continue to languish in epileptic development.

Aminu who noted that the organization, founded two years ago, is dedicated to rallying support for Tinubu across the country ahead of 2023 presidential said the group is already creating a national awareness to ensure Tinubu is electorally enthroned.

TSO believes that a man whose CV is embodied in the current Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, former governors of Lagos, Babatunde Raji Fashola, Ambode, the current Minister of Information, Arts and Culture, Lai Muhammed, Speaker, House of Representatives will himself have greater packages of Democracy to offer the entire nation if supported into power.

The women arm of TSO, through its women leader, Fatima Bello, made it clear that although their gesture is not to campaign for Tinubu, but to express their belief in the former Lagos state governor in taking Nigeria to the promised land, starting from 2023.

The deputy women-leader, Raliat Abdulsalam also revealed that the reason the women faction of the organization decided to throw their full weight behind the initiative is Tinubu’s exemplary and inclusive leadership style and sympathy towards the women cause over the years.

“When he was governor, he picked people from different states to hold [political] positions [in Lagos]. Which state in Nigeria today [would] bring anybody from outside their states to become a commissioner, Tinubu did that”, she stated.

While expressing that Asiwaju is not greedy for power, she said, “he has supported people from the north to be president, he has supported people from the south…he was governor and [after his tenures] he didn’t run for the senate seat, like most governors do when they leave governorship, instead, he built people that are still in power today”.

Raliat who revealed that some of them do not even have any personal relationship with the APC chieftain or his family said they only see in him a vision, someone that can lead the nation out of her present predicament.

No doubt, Tinubu has dominated the political scenes, especially from the country’s commercial capital, for over two decades and many have anticipated his bid to run for Nigeria’s highest political seat, although he has never officially made known such intentions.

While many had thought that the ructions and dissolution of the National Executive Committee, NEC, at a time in the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC would have bloated his chances to the presidential seat, Tinubu in his usually sagacious manner responded by saying it was too early to “assign colourful epitaphs to the 2023 death of an ambition that is not yet even born”.

Tinubu who was a two-termed governor of Lagos is widely credited with the State’s social and economic progress over the past two decades and he has ensured that his proteges rule since he left the post.
