Ghanaian Star striker Agogo dies after battling with stroke

Ghanaian star striker Agogo Junior has been confirmed dead at the age of 40. Although the exact cause of his death has not been confirmed but according to his interview with BBC years back, he has been battling with partial stroke since 2015. Agogo had a devastating stroke in 2015, and revealed he was “in a bad way” after the incident.
Speaking after his stroke, Agogo told the BBC: “I was running with my dog. I was coming back home. I was near the Marriott Hotel and the stroke happened.
“When I woke up I was in hospital with my mum. I couldn’t speak. I was in a bad way.
“I had thoughts, but I was like where is my voice. I was baffled, man.”
Agogo had a terrific career spanning 15 years in the game, and played for 15 teams in total
He started his career in 1997 at Sheffield Wednesday, where he played twice in three years.
During that time he was sent out on loan to Oldham Athletic, Chester City, Chesterfield, and Lincoln City.
In 2000, he signed for MLS team Chicago Fire, before quickly moving on to the Colorado Rapids. He made 32 appearances for the Rapids, scoring 11 goals.
A year later, Agogo moved to the San Jose Earthquakes, where he scored four goals in 14 appearances.
In the year 2002, he moved back to the UK, and signed a deal with Queens Park Rangers
He stayed in west London for a single season, before heading across town to Barnet, where he also stayed for a year.
Agogo made the trip west to Bristol Rovers, and made 126 appearances for them.
He stayed at Rovers for three years, before moving to Forest, where he featured 64 times.
Sheffield Wednesday told Agogo’s family and friends that they were in the club’s thoughts as they led the tributes for their former frontman.
They said: “Sheffield Wednesday are saddened to learn of the passing of our former player Junior Agogo.
“Our thoughts are with Junior’s family and friends at this very difficult time. RIP.”
