The phase 2 of the BRT corridor from Abule-egba to Sango Ota Ogun state has been slated to begin come May 2020. This was made known by his Excellency the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Sanwo-Olu said the project will start immediately after the completion of the Bus Rapid Transport corridor from Oshodi to Abule Egba area of the state.
He disclosed this while inspecting the project on Sunday, noted that the 13.68 kilometre-long route would be opened with 200 buses.
“If the Bus Rapid Transport corridor from Oshodi to Abule Egba area of the state will be completed in May 2020.
“As part of the inspection of ongoing projects, I visited the Abule-Egba-Oshodi BRT corridor today. The project was conceived with the intention to address transportation & congestion challenges. We are back on the project & have told the contractor to speed up the pace of work.
“The work on this corridor will significantly bring relief and reduce traffic congestion.
“We plan that by the end of May, this phase will be completed. It has reached 75 per cent completion and then works on the Abule-Egba to Sango BRT corridor will start immediately.”
