33 Year old man needs N11m for liver transplant

A 33-year-old man, Kehinde Badmus, needs N11million to live. Badmus, 33, has been diagnosed with Hepatitis B and chronic liver disease and needs the money to pay for life-saving liver transplant.

The patient, who lives in Lagos, has been in severe pain for over a year during which he has been vomiting and excreting blood.

His condition is degenerating and he now has ascites. Badmus has already had a minor surgery to sustain his life but his doctors have recommended a permanent surgery that will cost between N10.2million and N11m.

Oncology and radiology specialists at IrdocNigeria/Euracare Multispecialist Hospital, Victoria Island, Lagos, made the recommendation in a February 7, 2022 medical report.

The report was signed by Dr. Hammed Ninalowo, a Consultant Vascular/Interventional Radiologist and Interventional Oncology.

Giving his impression/plan for Kehinde in the report, Dr Ninalowo said: “A 33-year-old male with history of hepatitis B, hepatitis B related cirrhosis and recurrent massive upper gastrointestinal bleeding with associated ascites.

“I talked to the patient at length regarding the pathophysiology of liver disease and portal hypertension. In this case, he clearly has decompensated liver disease with meld of 19 with the ultimate solution being liver transplant.”

Badmus is appealing to the public to come to his aid.

In tears, he said: “I and my family have spent all we have and even borrowed to keep me alive since last year. I am still buying drugs to ease the pains and keep me alive before the surgery. We have been completely drained. Please, help save my life.”

Donations to Badmus can be sent directly to his Fidelity Bank account: Badmus Kehinde Jamiu Account number: 6170957604
